About Design Heating
Design Heating is the one-person HVAC company you actually want for your home — every project designed, installed, and stood behind by Kevin Kaski, a Certified Geothermal Designer working out of Duluth, Minnesota since 2016.
Meet the Owner
Kevin started Design Heating in 2016 with one principle: a heating system should be engineered for the home it sits in — never sized by rule of thumb, never installed by whichever crew happens to be free that week.
Every Design Heating project starts with a computerized ACCA Manual J heat-loss calculation. For hydronic systems, Kevin designs tubing layouts in LoopCad and models near-boiler piping before the first parts are ordered. For geothermal, he sizes the ground loop himself using the same software the big engineering firms use.
Then he installs it — personally. No subcontractors. No "lead tech" you've never met. When you call Design Heating, the person who picks up the phone is the person who will design your system, the person who will install your system, and the person who will service it five years from now.
That is why Design Heating maintains a 4.9-star average across 114 verified reviews.

Three things. First, the owner installs every job — you work with Kevin from the first phone call through warranty service. Second, every system is engineered, not guessed: we run an ACCA Manual J heat-loss calculation and design hydronic systems in LoopCad before quoting. Third, we specialize. We focus on high-efficiency boilers, infloor radiant, panel radiators, geothermal, and modern forced-air — rather than trying to be everything to everyone.
We serve homeowners and small commercial clients across Duluth, Hermantown, Proctor, Pike Lake, Cloquet, Esko, Carlton, Two Harbors (Minnesota), and Superior, Wisconsin — generally within a 30-mile radius of our shop at 5131 Washburn Road in Duluth, MN.
We do not currently offer emergency or 24/7 service. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. For urgent heating issues during the cold months, we do our best to prioritize same-week appointments.
